with election month just 4 months away, it gets more and more interesting to watch TV. It's that time again when government officials you never even know are in office are suddenly showing up everywhere: TV commercials, billboards, omg even road signs. And it was quite interseting to watch who among the wannabe candidates are going to show their real colors and sing different tunes. Tito Sotto is a prime example. the problem in the Philippines is that more often than not, popularity and name recall wins more over credibility and ability. all you really need to win the elections nowadays is a stage and some sexy dancers and a dance to the tune of boom-tarat and hand a few bucks to some kid and you're all fucking set. probably why the people's champ, Manny Pacquiao, has so much confidence that he would win despite of the fact that he had no education or previous political or leadership experience to speak of.

but then again, he's probably right.

my pagerank went up to three a few days ago and i was so surprised that i didn't believe it at first. but it's true! arghh, my first splash into SEO madness are bearing fruit.

i really wanna learn more. but the thing is, as soon as i do, new stuff comes along. i've got the basic now, most of it, but the hardest part is yet to come. i have to find a strategy that works, and i probably have to buy at least a couple of domains for that so i wouldn't run the risk of getting teh websites i handle banned.

Joni tagged moi to do a list of things people don't know about me. Dad probabaly know most of them already, but well, here we go.

• I cant sleep without my sandayan. Along the same lines, I can't sleep with the lights on and I can't sleep without the fan pointing directly at my feet, which means no blankets from ankle down. My mom says I've been like that even when I was little bitty. She said I would fuss and cry and refuse to sleep until they took my blanket off my feet. And, I can sleep even with no pillow for my pretty head but I would toss and turn all night without my sandayan. C'mon we all have our sleeping quirks. Those are mine.
• Similiar to the way Joni prays when ambulances go whizzing by, I pray when I pass a funeral or a burial procession. That habit began when I was a freshie in high school, when a religion teacher taught us that for souls to get out of purgatory, they need a certain amount of prayers which is somehow proportional to the sins that person made. Like, the more or heavier the sins he or she committed, the more prayers it would take for them to get into heaven. I thought then that I would like someone to pray for me. A lot of my beliefs have changed since then, but I still pray for them souls. It doesn't hurt anyone and who knows? My old teacher might be right after all.
• I love mind-twisting games. I think I've mentioned this before. Dad kicks my ass in Text Twist, Scrabble, Boggle, Tetris and pretty much every game we play but I rule when it comes to strategy games. This is largely because dad doesn't really have the patience to sit still and figure it out (he's the kind of guy who likes to see immediate results, lol) while I'm the kind who thrives on solving every puzzle. Right now, I'm obsessed with Weffriddles. I'm such a geek.
• I love to cook. I'm an only child and I have a mom who doesn't know how to cook either so i have no one to teach me domestic skills, but cooking is like doodling for me. It's almost instinctive. That's one thing I got from my father (he was a good cook). I don't know how to make adobo or kare-kare or all those yummy viands yet, but I know that if I find someone willing to teach me, I can do it well.
  
• My favorite kind of flowers are white roses. I never could really explain why fully. My mom used to always ask God for signs, and these signs usually come in the form of white flowers. I guess, although I no longer believe in signs, white flowers, roses in particular always appealed to me because of that. Years ago, I used to dream all the time about me walking down the aisle with a bunch of white roses in my hand. It could be that in my mind, I saw it as an approval from God that I am making the right choice in one of the biggest decision I will ever have to make in my life.

Must be nice to be such a big, er, person that vandalizing property of some hot shot hotel wouldn't cost you anything, not even a slap on the wrist. In fact, it must be cool to be a super popular person that the property you defaced would cost about a few million dollars as soon as you put your name in it.

I can just imagine how JK must be feeling.

I can't believe HP series is gonna end soon. I'm sure every Harry Potter geek out there knows, the book will be released on July 27 of this year and I will place my reservation with Powerbooks as soon as my next pay lands on my palms [insert evil laugh here]. JK has this to say: 

Well. If it was me who've written the series that created such an impact all over the world, I would probably say the same thing.

I wonder what would happen if I did that to Manila Hotel or Le Souffle or someplace like that. Lol, I'd probably spend the night washing dishes.

Being a super ultimate fan of the TV series Gilmore Girls, I admit I'm a little biased in saying that it is probably the best TV show ever created for humankind. From the storyline to the scoring, everything is, for me, perfect.

"The She Appeared" by XTC is one of my favorite songs from Gilmore Girls. It was from the scene way back in Season 2, I think when Jess and Rory first got together officially as a couple. It was played in the background as Rory "appeared" to their prearranged meeting place. Jess was such a bad-boy-i-hate-the-world yet complete romantico guy. And since I'm a sucker for such characters, I was and still am a fan of their team up.

Being a not-so-much lover of music, I can only appreciate tunes that I can associate to some movie or scene or music video that I liked. But this one here is one of my all-time favorites. Muchos love-o's to my lovee, who gave me the mp3. Here are some of my favorite lines:

look, i'll be serious. i'll take this time to be, even if we're faceless. i love you, ok? i really do. to be secured with you as my family is is more than enough. quite, i may say. cause, really, to have you is more than more than enough. i know you're a great girl, sans the outer influences. am holding onto that. that the way you treat hammies is the way you'll treat my children our children. the way you become brittle is just as lovely. only if you find the pieces complete right there, in my arms.

Valetines day is coming ever closer. This early I've spotted a few entries dedicated to Valentines here and there. Some are lamenting the fact that they're single, while there are also those who are excitedly looking forward to a date with that special someone. And here I am jumping into the bandwagon. Why not?

A lot of people are convinced that Valentines is overrated. In a lot of ways, these people do have a point. They're right in saying that you don't need someone "special" to be happy on Valentines, or on any occassion, so to speak.

A lot of anti-hearts' day-ists are also expressing the opinion that Valentines is overrated because you can "express your love" any other day, and this is where I don't agree. Because I'm a self-confessed lover and proud celebrant for special occassions.

Birthdays, Christmas, New Year, and yes, Valentines. What's wrong with setting aside one day to treat someone extra special? Try to make that one day extra memorable for him or her. And buy gifs and receive gifts that you can hug or post to your scrapbook. A letter is not too much, is it?

We, the young and young at heart, the giddy, eager celebrants have fun doing these cheesy stuff. Please do not rain on our parade.

Memories mean so much. At least, to me. Maybe that's why forgetful as I am, these little snippets of time stay permanently etched in my brain.

Sometimes I really do think that nothing can buy class. And once or twice in your life, you will come accross a person, a groupie, a blogger who absolutely has zilch and you also have to accept that there is nothing left to do but to deal with them.

You can be a self-proclaimed uber rich somebody, or a so-called winning "writer", or even a Koreana lookalike (that only you have noticed, unfortunately) but that will still not get you manners.

There's a fine line between a healthy debate and outright baseless attacks. Yep it may be thin, but a line is still a line meaning THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. Tell me, how can insults such as "insecure ka lang", "feeling matalino", "bakla" and the like be appropriate replies to a mere opinion regarding magazine articles and the hype they so obviously portray? Nevermind the fact that the person this girl's attacking is the same person she copied her "debating style" from--down to the very words he used. Of course now that he's snubbed her, he's bakla na. lol. I'm sorry, I just find that so funny.

So you guys who are just passing by my blog, I apologize for the nitwits who continously infest my blog (who of course claim that they don't go here). I love ya all!!

it's our second valentines today. while i'm your average mushy/sentimental girl who likes all the old standbys--flowers, chocolates, stuffed teddies--a book made my day. not because it's a good book (though it is), and not because i like it (though i do). but because my boyfriend took the time to look for it, make sure that i want it, and then sneaked to the counter under the pretense of getting a better copy to buy it for me and present it with a flourish, yeah, maybe just so he could see me smile.

the best valentines gift ever.

happy valentines, sweetheart. you're right. one day, you'll come home and find me waiting for you, cook your food and fix your bed. and then, we'll drift to sleep together.

Browsing a few pages around Friendster will sometimes give you the feeling that you are growing older and older. These past two days, while looking at some of my friends' pages, I realized that a lot of them already has a baby of their own. I sometimes find it hard to believe because it's difficult to picture someone you played patintero or jolens with toting a tod of their own.

But even so, I have to admit that their babies? The cutest little angels I've ever seen:

Oshie, the little boy at the top, is actually the son of my cousin, and he's also my inaanak. He looks a lot like his mother, unfortunately. Hehe.

And then Zairee, the little girl in the Santa clothes is thedaughter of my kababata. Isn't she a cutie?

One of my closest friends recently gave birth, and of course, her daughter is yet another soon-to-be inaanak that i would have to hide from Every Christmas. Lol!!

And speaking of babies, my doggie Kimmi seems to be a little bloated around the tummy lately? Could it be? Did Chuckie finally managed to make her keep still long enough to knock her up? That remains to be seen, I guess.

The keyword that this person used is ? www.spoiledgeek/tabulas, a keyword that is, in my opinion, quite specific to be a random search. But then again, these are all hunches.
